Johnson Controls Awarded Global Real Estate Contract with Agilent Technologies

Johnson Controls Integrated Offering Bridges Gap Between Real Estate and Facilities Management

MILWAUKEE, March 2 -- Johnson Controls, Inc. today announced the expansion of its existing global facilities management contract with Agilent Technologies to incorporate a full-service real estate management solution for Agilent's worldwide real estate portfolio. This deal follows the Johnson Controls acquisition of USI, a leading corporate real estate alliance services firm in the United States, and builds on a global relationship with Agilent, which covers 12 million square feet of owned properties in 30 countries in the Americas, Asia and Europe.

"Increasingly, customers want to bridge the gap between real estate and facilities management with an integrated offering, more aligned to business needs," said Guy Holden, vice president and general manager, global real estate and facility management solutions, Johnson Controls. "We have responded by developing a full range of real estate services, which complement our facility management, technical and business support services. We are excited about this opportunity to deliver the benefits of our full service offering to Agilent and to demonstrate our unique value proposition to the industry."

Under the expanded contract, Johnson Controls will begin providing real estate advisory services, real estate portfolio strategy, and design, construction and innovative technology solutions to improve the value of Agilent's real estate while accommodating its needs for productive and cost effective work environments. Given the company's current relationship with Johnson Controls as its facilities management service provider, Agilent can realize substantial cost savings and efficiencies by having an expert point of contact for all of its portfolio needs. Johnson Controls will maintain relationships with best-in-class brokerage and architectural firms who have established relationships with Agilent.

The expanded contract builds on the successful relationship the two companies have shared since 2001 when Johnson Controls began providing operations and maintenance services to three critical facilities in the United States.

Johnson Controls recently created Integrated Real Estate and Facilities Management Solutions business is the world's largest global real estate and facilities management business offering a single-source for real estate portfolio management, design and project management, strategic consulting, SEQUENTRA(R) and RealSuite(R) technology solutions, energy and facilities management services.
