Siemens VDO Appoints Harry W. Zike as Chief Financial Officer
AUBURN HILLS, Mich.--March 2, 2006--Siemens VDO has appointed Harry W. Zike to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company's North American operations effective Feb. 1, 2006. Zike, based at the company's North American Headquarters in Auburn Hills, Mich., is responsible for overseeing all financial and administrative functions of the company's North American Operations.Zike joined Siemens in 1989 as Deputy Controller for its United States corporate headquarters in New York City, where he was responsible for Siemens' U.S. financial reporting functions, as well as the investment of retirement plan assets. In 1994, he was transferred to Erlangen, Germany, where he was the Commercial Director responsible for selected Siemens Power Generation projects in Southeast Asia. After serving as Commercial Director, Zike returned to Siemens' U.S. corporate headquarters in New York, where he served as its Vice President and Controller. In 1999, he was promoted to Vice President and CFO of Siemens Power Generation Inc. in Orlando, Fla., coincident with Siemens acquisition of the Westinghouse fossil power generation business.
Prior to joining Siemens, Zike began his career with Price Waterhouse in New York in the audit and advisory services group, later assisting in the establishment of the mergers and acquisitions practice. Zike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Scranton in Scranton, Pa. He is a Certified Management Accountant, Certified Public Accountant and Certified Six Sigma Green Belt and is fluent in German and English.
