Mid-Ohio Adds New Staff

 

DUBLIN, Ohio (March 1, 2006) - TrueSports, Incorporated, owner and operator
of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School, today announced a
pair of staff additions in its communications and operations departments.  

 

Longtime TrueSports employee Cheryl Meadows has returned to the firm as call
center and accounting manager, while Rebecca Ackford has joined the company
as media and communications coordinator.  

 


"We're pleased to have Cheryl back with us and to welcome Becky to our
team," said TrueSports President Michelle Trueman Gajoch.  "Their experience
and enthusiasm will be invaluable as we open one of our biggest seasons yet
and continue to build our business."

 

Meadows has held numerous positions over a 23-year career with the company.
She previously served as an accountant, ticket office manager, event
administrator, registrar and volunteer coordinator.  She will now be
responsible for call center operations for Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and
accounting for The Mid-Ohio School.  

 

Ackford will manage all corporate and event media relations, as well as
sponsor, participant, industry and community public relations activities.
She also will oversee the creation and production of company and event
publications, and assist with event promotions.  

 

A recent graduate of the Sport Management Master's Degree Program at The
Ohio State University, Ackford has completed marketing internships with the
NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and MAX Sports Center.  She was previously a
promotions manager for the Athletics Department at Miami University, where
she earned an undergraduate degree in health and sports studies.  

 

Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, TrueSports, Incorporated

and operates Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School, and
promotes a wide variety of motor racing, driver and rider instruction,

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a 2.4-mile, 15-turn permanent road racing
circuit in Lexington, Ohio.  Located 60 miles north of Columbus and 75 miles
south of Cleveland near Mansfield, the track has been called the most
competitive in the U.S. and annually hosts a diversity of locally,
regionally and nationally sanctioned racing events for amateur, club and
professional riders and drivers.  

 

The Mid-Ohio School provides professional driving and riding instruction to
drivers and motorcyclists of all skill levels.  The school's 19 different
programs vary from Defensive Driving, Performance Driving and Racing
programs on the automobile side to Beginning, Experienced, Advanced
Cornering and Performance Track Riding programs on the motorcycle side.
Students enjoy classroom sessions, skill drills, expert personal instruction
and lapping on the same track that challenges the world's top racers.  The
school has graduated more than 19,000 students since its inception in 1993.
