Safety Vision, L.P. Unveils RouteRecorder(TM) 1000 MDVR

HOUSTON--Feb. 2, 20068, 2006--Safety Vision has added a new school bus video system to its growing line of mobile video products. The RouteRecorder(TM) 1000 mobile digital video recorder (MDVR) is a single-camera system with dual-camera capability. Designed with school bus surveillance in mind, the RouteRecorder 1000 MDVR also adapts to the mobile surveillance video needs of multiple mobile fleets.

According to Chris Beard, Safety Vision's National Sales Manager-Pupil Transportation, the RouteRecorder 1000 MDVR fits a special niche in the school bus video camera market. "Many customers want to optimize their dollar while obtaining the latest technology. Our lowest cost 'analog to digital' upgrade option, the RouteRecorder MDVR is a drop-in digital replacement for other major brands of analog-based VCR systems. Plus, it offers the user-friendly familiarity of basic recorder features and is simple to install, easy to use."

The RouteRecorder 1000 MDVR records high-resolution video (640 x 240 pixels) at up-to 30 frames per second (fps). The system features two video/audio inputs, so it can record input from two different school bus cameras in switching mode or from one onboard dome camera and an external microphone. The system also records in response to stop-arm activation. Selected models of the RouteRecorder 1000 MDVR feature GPS integration, which allows for recorded (hidden) or on-screen display of vehicle speed and geographic coordinates. And an optional event button enables the driver to manually mark events so that they can be located easily, later.
