Ground-Breaking Patent for Real-Time RFID Inventory Management

NEWCASTLE, Del.--Feb. 28, 2006--Unisone(TM) Corporation, a supplier of business software applications, which owns one of the world's richest inventory management IP portfolios, announced it has been awarded revolutionary U.S. Patent No. 6,996,538 for an advanced inventory control system and methodology utilizing RFID technology. Simultaneously, the company announced the appointment of Matt Truong, a veteran in the field of RFID solutions, as CIO for its subsidiary Intelligentz(TM) Corporation.

"Our IP along with existing software and expertise in RFID tracking secures Unisone and its subsidiaries as a market leader in inventory management solutions," said Michael Lucas, chairman and president of Unisone Corporation. "Our IP portfolio has broad applications in automotive, electronics, entertainment, consumer, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, agricultural, and many other markets."

Unisone's newly patented IP creates an Internet-based vendor managed inventory (VMI) system incorporating both inventory management systems utilizing barcodes or other legacy scanning methods as well as RFID tags. With this technology, inventory is tracked and suppliers, manufacturers or distributors are notified automatically when additional supplies are needed, further increasing negotiation and buying power, reducing costs and speeding delivery of critical parts and supplies. These patented technologies and Unisone's management team are a proven, viable solution for Fortune 100 companies as they strive to improve and streamline processes used to create, manage and deliver goods to their customers.

"The vision of Unisone founder Michael Lucas has for years been to meld the untapped capabilities of the Internet and advancing RFID technology to create powerful solutions for managing inventory and delivering goods to customers. The rapid integration of the growing IP portfolio and software solutions is a clear validation of this pioneering work by Unisone and its subsidiaries," said Bernard Puckett, Advisor to the Chairman and former Senior Vice President of IBM.

Unisone's IP will enable consumers to determine real-time inventory availability and proximity from multiple sellers without visiting or calling multiple stores or websites. This ensures retailers that they can limit inventory searches to customers most likely to purchase based on specific criteria and empowers retailers to implement RFID solutions to provide accurate on demand inventory status. Customers will be able to reserve items and ensures the product is in stock and reserved at the retailer. When combined with the new patent, this facilitates complete web-enabled RFID inventory management, from raw materials to consumer purchases.

"The ability to integrate Unisone's newly patented IP with Intelligentz's inventory management solutions presents an exciting opportunity for our company and our customers," said Matt Truong, CIO of Intelligentz. "The capabilities defined by this technology will re-invent how companies across industries interact with their partners and customers."

Matt Truong will drive the development of Intelligentz's real-time, cost effective, automated inventory replenishment system, Intelligentz 4. This system provides retailers and suppliers with seamless visibility of products at all levels of the inventory management process, improving organizational efficiencies and reducing bottom-line expenses. Truong has extensive direct experience on the forefront of large, complex and strategic RFID programs including Wal-Mart, Department of Homeland Security USVisit project, the Defense Logistic Agency, McCarran and the Hong Kong International Airports. Prior to joining Intelligentz, Truong gained first hand experience working for major corporations such as Symbol Technology, Inc., Ericsson IP Infrastructure, Attest Technologies and Hughes Network Systems. Matt has been directly involved with three successful startups such as Matrics Corporation, Torrent Networking Technologies, and Ciena Corporation.
