Geneva - March 1, 2006: Kia Motors will preview their new C-segment car in Geneva next week: cee'd (pronounced 'seed'). Designed entirely in Kia's satellite studio in Germany, cee'd will also mark the opening of the company's first-ever European assembly plant in Slovakia.

As partner-company Hyundai becomes more orientated towards the American market, cee'd marks Kia's commitment to Europe, portraying design DNA that will filter through to other future products. According to Gregory Guillaume, Chief Designer at the Kia European Design Centre, "we wanted to make cee'd as beautiful, as exquisitely detailed and precisely executed as possible." It will go up against the Volkwagen Golf and Opel Astra from its launch at Paris later this year, with production beginning in December.
