Posted by www.eMercedesBenz.com on February 27, 2006 at 8:40 AM CST

It's only three days until the International Motor Show in Geneva
opens its doors to the public, but if you just can't wait to see the
new models smart is unveiling this year, you're in luck, cause we got
'em.

The smart forfour Brabus SBR

First up is the custom graphite gray smart forfour you see pictured
above. If you remember a few months back, DaimlerChrysler and BRABUS
teamed up for the Essen Motor Show to produce a 210 horsepower BRABUS
smart concept, a vehicle designed to showcase the true potential of
the smart forfour. This concept has become a reality, and what you
are witnessing is the production version of the BRABUS smart forfour,
dubbed the smart forfour BRABUS SBR. It features, among other
things, 210 horsepower and torque of up to 250 Newton metres, enough
to propel the smart SBR from 0-60 in 6.4 seconds and reach a maximum
speed of 140 mph; dippolished alloy wheels; and a custom interior
featuring leather/alcantara trim with orange seams.

The smart forfour BRABUS and BRABUS Xclusive

In addition to the smart forfour BRABUS SBR, DaimlerChrysler and
BRABUS have teamed up to bring you two other enhanced smart models as
well. The first is the smart forfour BRABUS, a smart that benefits
from an increase in power to 177 horsepower as well as newly-added
wide tires on 17 inch alloy rims.

The other, a model they're calling the smart forfour BRABUS Xclusive,
not only features a 177 horsepower power plant and 17 inch wheels,
but also comes equipped with a high quality BRABUS leather interior,
a front spoiler, and side skirts.

Pricing for the two models is set at EUR 21,950 for the smart forfour
BRABUS, while the smart forfour BRABUS Xclusive weighs in a little
higher at EUR 25,350.

The smart fortwo edition red

Like red? Fret not, smart has heard your pleas. That's why they're
debuting the new smart fortwo edition red, a smart fortwo that
features a 75 horsepower BRABUS engine, 16 inch alloy wheels, a front
spoiler, and a custom exterior featuring, you guessed it, intensive
red paint. Inside, hints of the same intensive red perfectly
accentuate the smart fortwo's leather and alcantara interior, while
air conditioning and an MP3 interface complete the package.

Pricing for the smart fortwo edition red will be EUR 20,500 for the
coupe, while pricing for the cabrio model is set at EUR 23,200.

The smart roadster "collector's edition"

Finally, if you're a die hard smart fan, DaimlerChrysler is unveiling
a limited number of "collector's edition" smart roadsters to usher
out the end of an era.

Based on the smart roadster BRABUS Xclusive, the smart roadster
features a silver tridion safety cell with exclusive matte brown body
panels, a front and rear spoiler, lowered suspension, 17 inch light
alloy wheels, and a custom brown leather interior.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

International Motor Show in Geneva: smart forfour BRABUS SBR
underlines the potential and classlessness of the four-seater

Böblingen, Feb 27, 2006

The first smart with more than 200 bhp. The presentation of a concept
car at the Essen Motor Show is now being followed by the presentation
of the smart forfour BRABUS SBR at the Geneva Motor Show, which is
being offered for sale as an exclusive small series.

The SBR can achieve a maximum speed of 226 km/h and underlines the
potential and the classlessness of the smart forfour. Its performance
data are impressive: 155 kW (210 bhp) and torque of up to 250 Newton
metres. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds. With a
variable locking differential that enhances traction on winding roads
and shorter shift travel that enables gears to be changed even more
quickly.

The smart forfour BRABUS SBR also demonstrates the innovation
competence of its manufacturer: The tridion safety cell and
bodypanels come in a unique graphite grey matt finish. The smart
crosstown show car and the smart roadster collector's edition are the
only other vehicles to sport similar paintwork.

Further features of the smart forfour BRABUS SBR: Dippolished alloy
wheels and door mirrors painted in a contrasting colour. In the
interior, expressive leather/alcantara trim with contrasting orange
seams underlines the exclusiveness of the vehicle.

smart forfour BRABUS and BRABUS Xclusive: Each to his own

In addition to the smart forfour BRABUS, the new smart forfour BRABUS
Xclusive is now also available. Whereas the latter caters to
practically every need, especially as far as looks are concerned,
it's what's inside the former that attracts customers. Both cars are
being showcased for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show (28
February – 12 March 2006).

In other words: The focus of the smart forfour BRABUS is on the
running gear and engine performance, which are impressive to say the
least. Like the Xclusive variant it features an uprated 130 kW (177
bhp) engine. It also comes with wide tyres on 17 inch alloy rims. And
it goes without saying that it offers endless fun behind the wheel!

In addition to this, the smart forfour BRABUS Xclusive comes with a
high quality BRABUS leather interior. With sports seats for driver
and front passenger including seat height adjustment and perfect side
support. Further standard features: A front spoiler, side skirts and
the typical smart silver or black paintwork.

The differences are also reflected in the price: At a price of €
21,950 the smart forfour BRABUS costs considerably less than the
Xclusive variant which retails at € 25,350.

smart fortwo edition red: A new special model of the cult car:

Also showcasing in Geneva: The smart fortwo edition red with a 55 kW
(75 bhp) BRABUS engine. With 16 inch alloy wheels, a front spoiler
and a sports rear muffler. As the name says - the tridion safety cell
and bodypanels are painted in intensive red.

Leather and alcantara with elaborately stitched seams dominate in the
interior of the "edition red". Special contrast components in
"intensive red" and aluminium pedals add to the exclusive look. Air
conditioning and an audio system with an MP3 interface are also part
of the package. The "edition red" is available as a coupé or a cabrio
and costs € 20,500 and € 23,200 respectively.

smart roadster: Tomorrow’s classic as a "collector’s edition"

The smart roadster is going out with a bang! On show at the Geneva
Motor Show is the first car of a final limited "collector’s edition"
for collectors and enthusiasts.

It is based on the smart roadster BRABUS Xclusive and features a
silver tridion safety cell combined with exclusive matt brown
bodypanels. The interior is no less exclusive with seats, instrument
panel and interior door trim covered in high quality brown leather.

With engine power of 74 kW (101 bhp), a front and rear spoiler, a
lowered sports suspension and large 17 inch alloy wheels the
"collector's edition" guarantees lots of driving fun!

One thing is certain: The smart roadster and roadster-coupé will find
their rightful place in automobile history – and in some enthusiasts'
collections. The "collector’s edition" offers the final – and perhaps
most attractive – opportunity for fans to claim their bit of history.
