NEW YORK - Feb. 22,2006: The New York International Automobile Show (NYIAS), North America's largest publicly-attended Auto Show will open to consumers on Friday, April 14th and run through Sunday, April 23rd. Prior to the public opening, the Show will host Press Preview Days on Wednesday, April 12th and Thursday, April 13th.
New for 2006
Last year 47 new cars and trucks were introduced to over 6,000 media and auto industry personnel in attendance. Show organizers are expecting nearly fifty world and North American vehicle debuts at the 2006 Press Preview. Also new for the Show, the winners of the prestigious World Car of the Year Awards (WCOTY) will be unveiled during press days. WCOTY was established in 2003 to recognize and reward automotive achievements and excellence on a global scale. The program is initiated, organized, and conducted by top automotive journalists from all over the world.
With nearly 1,000 of the latest '06, '07 and even a few '08 models on the show floor, the 2006 NYIAS will feature an impressive collection of cutting- edge design and remarkable innovation.
