Chicago-Area Resident Wins $10,000 in Free Shell Gasoline
CHICAGO - Feb. 22, 2006: Denise Heap of Oswego won $10,000 in free Shell gasoline this past Friday from Shell Oil Products US as part of its Shell-branded promotion that ran last month at Chicago-area Shell stations and on the popular "Eric & Kathy Morning Show" on WTMX-FM (101.9). The duo made a public appearance to act as masters of ceremony when 20 finalists gathered at the Shell booth in the Chicago Auto Show on Friday, February 17, to see who would be the winner -- each finalist drew a Shell gas card and then inserted it into the credit card reader of the display gas pump in hopes it would activate the pump.
"I am just so excited that I won $10,000 of Shell gas," Heap, the sweepstakes winner, told Eric and Kathy. "I am not sure what I am going to do with it at the moment but I am going to share with my family and friends."
The other $10,000 Shell Gas Giveaway finalists in attendance also walked away happy -- each walked away with a Shell gasoline gift card worth $100 as well as a free pass for themselves and a guest to the Chicago Auto Show. In addition to Chicago, the other finalists were from nearby cities Oak Forest, Glendale Heights, Carol Stream, Downers Grove, Batavia, Joliet, Vernon Hills, Aurora, Burbank and Schererville, IN.
The sweepstakes was held to celebrate Shell's Sponsorship of the 2006 Chicago Auto Show.
