Bush Touts Alternative Energy, Hybrid Vehicles

Washington DC February 21 2006; The AIADA newsletter reported that President Bush reiterated his energy plan yesterday in Milwaukee, calling for increased spending on science research, development and education, and greater incentives for the makers and users of alternative sources of energy, reports The Washington Post. While speaking at Fortune 500 company Johnson Controls, Bush touted hybrid vehicles as the most promising breakthrough in alternative energy. The president was given a tour of a nearby Johnson Controls facility, where the company is working on the next generation of hybrids that can be plugged in at home to recharge a new line of batteries that will further decrease gasoline use and pollution.
