Compli Chairman and CEO Ken Thrasher and Wife Marta Thrasher to Be Honored with Simon Benson Award at Gala Featuring Her Majesty, Queen Noor of Jordan

Compli(R) chairman and CEO, Ken Thrasher and his wife, Marta Thrasher, will receive the prestigious Simon Benson Award from Portland State University (PSU) at a gala on March 1, 2006. The event will feature Her Majesty, Queen Noor of Jordan, as the keynote speaker. Also being honored this year with a Simon Benson Award are A. Gary Ames and his wife, Barbara Ames.
In its seventh year, the Simon Benson Awards dinner is Portland's premiere philanthropic event celebrating Pacific Northwest residents who are advocates for philanthropy. Named after one of Oregon's philanthropic pioneers, the award recognizes individuals who are visionaries and have generously given time, money, or both to support the lives of generations of Oregonians.
About the Philanthropy of Ken and Marta Thrasher
Education, children and mentoring, and the arts receive charitable support and countless volunteer hours from Ken, the chairman and CEO of Compli, and Marta, a 1990 alumna of PSU's Graduate School of Education. The Thrashers work tirelessly to raise funds for Albertina Kerr Centers, Friends of the Children, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Oregon Mentors, PSU, and other organizations that help young people achieve their full potential. The Thrashers also contributed to the recently completed Portland Art Museum North Building project.
Ken serves on the boards of the Children's Institute, Friends of the Children, Leaders Roundtable, Northwest Natural, Oregon Business Council, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Oregon Mentors, and The Portland Art Museum. Ken also serves as the co-chair of PSU's successful $100 million "Building Our Future" comprehensive campaign; serves on the board of the PSU Foundation and the Business Advisory Board; and is past chair of the Oregon State Quality Education Committee. Marta serves on the PSU Advisory Boards of the Food Industry Leadership Center, the Graduate School of Education, and the Graduate School of Social Work.

The event, presented by Wells Fargo and the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund, will be held on March 1, 2006 at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Portland. It will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a reception followed at 7:00 p.m. by dinner, a speech by Her Majesty, Queen Noor of Jordan, and entertainment.
