DALLAS--Feb. 2, 20060, 2006--The rights to the first production Foose Stallion Mustang from Unique Performance Concepts sold for an impressive US $81,200 on www.samsclub.com during Super Bowl XL weekend. The performance oriented pony car went up for auction on the Web site Friday, February 3; it was quickly caught up in a bidding war until the price almost doubled the car's MSRP. The Chip Foose-designed 2006 Ford Stallion Mustang is the first vehicle built by Tecstar Automotive Group, a subsidiary of with Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide .

"We're honored that SAM'S CLUB wanted to auction the rights to our first production vehicle," commented Douglas Hasty, president of Unique Performance Concepts. "The price this piece of automotive history fetched demonstrates the strength of Foose design, the craftsmanship of the Unique team and the public's hunger for pedigreed, custom versions of the Ford Mustang."

The Foose Stallion Mustang, with an MSRP of $42,000, went up for auction at www.samsclub.com, on Thursday, February 2, 2006, with a reserve price of $25,000. Bidding increased at $100 increments until the auction's close at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7.

The custom Mustang has a distinctive new look with revised styling cues such as a custom front grille and hood, new front and rear fascias, discreet scoops and a lowered stance. The cars will also include custom designed wheels and interior touches. Every Foose Stallion will receive its own serial number and will be fully documented in a special Foose registry.

Production versions are scheduled to be available through select Ford dealerships nationwide in the summer of 2006. The car will be manufactured in limited volume, making each an instant collectible.

High profile companies have also been drawn to the car. BF Goodrich gave away a customized version of the Foose Stallion Mustang at the 2006 NBA All Star Game in Houston on February 19.

"The Foose Stallion Mustang has become one of the hottest current production muscle cars in the world since its introduction a few months ago," added Hasty. "From the Woodward Dream Cruise to SEMA, the response to Chip Foose's design and our performance enhancements has been extremely positive. As the cars will be limited production, a waiting list has already begun for those who want to be among the first to own one of these rare, special cars. With the level of excitement so high among the public and dealers, we can't wait until production models begin to be shipped."
