New Lebanon, NY: Even though there is still snow on the ground, spring is
just around the corner. While you’re cozying up to the fire place, the
staff and management at Howard Commander’s Lebanon Valley Speedway are hard
at work preparing for their 54th Annual Season Opener coming April 15th,
2006.
The 2006 local dirt racing season is set to begin in fine fashion with
plenty of action packed racing, and family entertainment for all ages.
And to get those juices flowing, the “Valley of Speed” will open their gates
to a night of “Warm-Ups”, scheduled for Saturday April 8th. Pit gates open
at 1:00pm; Grandstands open at 3:00pm. And the best part is that Grandstand
seating is FREE for this one event only!
To start off the action, mark your calendars for April 15th. That’s when
the gates will open for the 54th Season Opener with a HUGE $3,000.00 to win
Modified Spectacular presented by CARQUEST, and in conjunction with L&M
Motors and Heavy Haulers. A full program will be on tap with Pro-Stocks,
Limited Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks, 4 Cylinders, and of course the Modifieds!
Other dates that you need to clear your calendar for are of course the
annual extravaganza titled the “Eve of Destruction” scheduled for Tuesday
June 20th. In addition, the pre-Independence Day Fireworks spectacular
slated for Saturday June 24th.
A huge night of action is planned for the following Saturday July 8th, with
a special 100 Lap Modified BUD Classic.
A crowd favorite that everyone looks forward to every summer is the USHRA
Monster Truck Summer Nationals set for 3 days of action and mud-slinging
excitement, starting Monday July 10th through July 12th.
Other notable events scheduled this summer are the return of World of Outlaw
Sprints on July 23rd, accompanied by the Benjamin Moore 358 Super Series.
Then on August 19th it’s the CARQUEST $5,000.00 to win Wingfest Modified
Special.
To cap off the season, it’s the Coors’ National Race of Kings Weekend.
Starting Friday September 8th and finishing up on Saturday, September 9th
with the Coors’ National 200, and the famed Race of Kings!
Lots of action, lots of fun, and still very affordable for the whole family!
