V. Lance Mitchell Named President of Alcoa Closure Systems International
PITTSBURGH & INDIANAPOLIS--Feb. 2, 20060, 2006--Alcoa announced today that V. Lance Mitchell, 46, has joined Alcoa as president, Alcoa Closure Systems International (CSI), the Alcoa Packaging & Consumer business headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., that provides plastic and aluminum closures, packaging equipment and technical services to food and beverage makers worldwide. Alcoa CSI has 27 locations worldwide, employing about 3,000 people.Most recently, Mr. Mitchell worked for PolyOne Corporation, the world's largest polymer services company, located in Avon Lake, Ohio, as Group Vice President responsible for three of its major businesses, Color and Additive Masterbatch, Engineering Compounds and International, overseeing more than 18 locations worldwide.

Following is biographical information on Lance Mitchell:
Lance Mitchell joined Alcoa in February 2006 as president of Alcoa Closures Systems International, a leading supplier of plastic and aluminum closures and packaging equipment to the food and beverage industry worldwide. Alcoa CSI is part of Alcoa's Packaging and Consumer group, which had revenues of $3.2 billion in 2005. Mr. Mitchell had extensive experience in business and product management. Most recently, he served as group vice president at PolyOne Corporation, the world's largest polymer services company, based in Avon Lake, Ohio. His accountabilities included responsibility for three main businesses, Colorants, Engineering Compounds and International. From 1997 until 2000, he was vice president and General Manager of Compounds for The Geon Company, a polymer service and technology company. In 2000, Geon combined with MA Hanna, a specialty polymer company, to form PolyOne Corporation. Mr. Mitchell led the integration team combining the two companies' compound businesses. Previously, he worked for eight years for BF Goodrich in business and sales director positions. He also held sales and marketing and business management positions with Owens Corning Fiberglass Corporation and Avery Dennison Corporation.
Mr. Mitchell obtained a bachelor's degree in business in 1981 from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and is the recipient of the Bowling Green State University Distinguished Service Award for community involvement.
