Big Shake Up at Mitsubishi - Schembri and Killen Out

Dave Schembri, EVP Sales & Marketing, and Wayne Killen, VP Marketing, Resign
CYPRESS, CA - Feb. 20, 2006: On Friday Mitsubishi Motors North America announced the resignations of Dave Schembri, EVP Sales & Marketing, and Wayne Killen, VP Marketing. Both are said to have "left to pursue other opportunities."
Schembri and Killen had only recently joined Mitsubishi. Schembri in February 2005 and Killen in August 2005. They had both worked together at Mercedes-Benz just prior to their going over to Mitsubishi. Killen had also previously been with Mitsubishi from 1987 to 1989.

Schembri's automotive career began in 1975 with American Motors, and in 1979 he joined Volkswagen of America, where he held key positions including director of marketing for VWoA and director of operations for VW Credit Corporation.
Schembri joined Mercedes-Benz USA in 1994 and served as general manager in key MBUSA regions overseeing retail operations during a period of significant growth. In 1999, he was promoted to vice president of sales - west, a position responsible for the Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles regions. He was named vice-president of MBUSA marketing in 2001.

Killen spent 10 years in Mercedes' product management department and was instrumental in the launch of several key products, culminating in the exclusive Maybach Brand in 2002.
No replacements were named. For the present, the Sales & Marketing operations will be directed by President & CEO Hiroshi Harunari.
