ProLogis Opens New Global Headquarters in Denver

- Facility Will Serve as Foundation for Company's Future Growth -

DENVER, Feb. 16 -- ProLogis , a leading global provider of distribution facilities and services, today formally opened its new global headquarters in Denver, Colorado.

The new, five-story facility is located at 4545 Airport Way in Denver, near the intersection of Interstate 70 and Pena Boulevard, the primary access road to Denver International Airport. It comprises more than 89,000 square feet of space and can accommodate up to 325 people.

The building will serve as the new home for all of ProLogis' Denver-based employees, including those in corporate functions (management, finance, accounting, legal, asset services, human resources, marketing, investor relations, IT) and North American real estate operations (property and fund management, design and construction, due diligence, and the Denver leasing and property management office). Previously, the company's local employees worked out of a ProLogis-owned distribution center and nearby leased office space.

"This is an exciting day for ProLogis," said Jeffrey H. Schwartz, ProLogis' chief executive officer. "Our company has experienced tremendous success over the past decade, building a true leadership position as a provider of industrial facilities all over the world. Our new headquarters stands as a symbol of ProLogis' past accomplishments -- and of the continued global growth we expect in the future."

ProLogis held a grand opening ceremony at the facility today attended by hundreds of guests and company employees. Remarks were given by Mr. Schwartz, ProLogis Chairman K. Dane Brooksher, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper and Aurora Mayor Pro Tem Sue Sandstrom.

"ProLogis is a true Colorado success story," Mayor Hickenlooper said. "A little more than a decade ago, it had 75 employees and less than $500 million in assets under management. Today ProLogis employs more than 1,000 people globally and has assets under management exceeding $22 billion. We're fortunate that ProLogis calls the Denver metro area home, and we wish the company continued growth and prosperity in this new facility."

The new headquarters was designed by the award-winning Gensler architectural firm. Saunders Construction Inc. of Denver was the builder; The Post Group LLC served as project manager. Construction took approximately 12 months to complete.

The facility features a number of state-of-the-art technologies designed to improve energy efficiency and mitigate impacts on the environment. Among them: an illumination system that harvests sunlight during the day and reduces power consumption; energy-efficient glass; high-reflectance roofing material; a landscape irrigation system that uses reclaimed gray water; and recharging stations for electric vehicles.

"Sustainability is an increasingly important concept in building construction, not only in the U.S. but in all of the regions we operate in around the world," said Walt Rakowich, president and chief operating officer. "We're pleased that we've been able to incorporate so many cutting-edge technologies and systems into our new facility, which will deliver long-term benefits to the company, our employees and the environment."
