Wescast Announces New Orders for European Business Unit

BRANTFORD, Ontario--Feb. 1, 20065, 2006--Wescast Industries Inc. ("Wescast") (TSX:WCS.SV.A) announced today that its European business unit, Wescast Hungary Zrt., has received new orders to supply several cast and machined exhaust manifolds, turbine housings and cast turbomanifolds for the following customers: Iveco, Isuzu, BorgWarner Turbo Systems and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

The Italian truck producer Iveco has chosen Wescast to supply to its engine plant in Foggia, Italy cast and machined manifolds for the 4-cylinder, 2.3L Fiat-Ducato diesel engine program. This program is expected to start production in the second quarter of 2006.

Isuzu has sourced Wescast as cast and machined manifold supplier to its new Circle L, 4-cylinder, 1.7L turbocharged diesel engine, assembled in Tychy, Poland. Production is expected to begin in the Fall of 2006, with parts for the Opel Corsa, Meriva, Astra and Zafira.

BorgWarner Turbo Systems selected Wescast as the tier 1 supplier for several programs. Beginning in the first quarter of 2006, Wescast will supply integrated turbomanifolds for a 3-cylinder engine program fitted to Volkswagen's Polo and Skoda Fabia. Wescast will also provide turbine housings for a 4-cylinder 2.0L engine fitted to the Audi A4 and for the BMW 4-cylinder 2.0L 2-stage turbocharged engine program. Production of the turbine housing program for Audi is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2006 while it is anticipated that the BMW program will begin production early in 2007.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has sourced Wescast to supply cast and machined turbine housings for its Netherlands plant. The turbo chargers are provided to PSA for the Peugeot 207, Peugeot Partner, and Citroen C3, C4 and Berlingo. Production is expected to start in the Summer of 2006.
