Speedemissions Same Store Sales in Atlanta Increase 25% in January 2006; Revenue for 2005 Shows a 142% Increase
ATLANTA--Feb. 1, 20065, 2006--Speedemissions, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SPMI), a leading vehicle emissions testing/safety inspections test only company, announced its year-end 2005 revenue of $6,950,000. This number is an increase of 142% for fiscal year 2005 versus 2004.Speedemissions operations in January 2006 continue to reflect a significantly different company than in 2005. In both its existing Atlanta stores and those newly acquired stores, the company implemented, among other things, a 'meet & greet' customer service philosophy. This attention to customer detail was a major reason for the 25% increase in tests performed. The increase in the number of tests conducted in January 2006 should improve store level economics. The company was not able to measure same store sales for the Texas & Utah locations because it did not operate all the stores for a full 12-month period.
The increase in total revenue for 2005 has demonstrated the company's ability to effectively integrate the acquisition along with driving more customers to its locations. It has acquired 7 companies in the past 24 months and will continue to aggressively pursue this strategy.
Rich Parlontieri, President/CEO of Speedemissions added "Our acquisition strategy of purchasing the right test only competitor continues to be the correct platform for building the company. The 142% revenue increase shows that we can get a deal done and improve its operations. What I think is even more impressive is the 25% increase of tests performed in our Atlanta stores. This solidifies our ability to increase customer traffic flow in an existing testing station. We're quite pleased that our attention to the customer has been rewarded with more customers in our Atlanta stores every day and feel the Texas and Utah store numbers may also reflect this philosophy."
