Bid4Assets Auctions Rare & Historic 1990 Mercedes-Benz C-11 Racecar Driven by Michael Schumacher

Online Auction Starts Monday, February 20 at 8 am (ET) With $830,000 Opening Bid

SILVER SPRING, Md., Feb. 13 -- Bid4Assets, Inc. a leading online auction company, announced today the auction of an extraordinary 1990 Mercedes-Benz C-11-05 historic racecar driven by Formula 1 racecar champion driver, Michael Schumacher, in the world-renowned Le Mans Classic Championship competition.

The auction, currently in preview at www.Bid4Assets.com, has an opening bid of $830,000 and requires a $25,000 deposit. Bidding begins Monday, February 20 at 8am (ET) and concludes Thursday, February 23 at 3pm (ET).

A significant piece of Mercedes-Benz racing history, the car, also referred to as the "Sauber-Mercedes C-11 chassis number 5" was designed by Leo Ress and built at the factory of distinguished Swiss auto racing designer, Peter Sauber.

This C-11-05's extraordinary performances during the 1990 and 1991 racing seasons solidified its position as one of the greatest Group C sportscars of its time. Driven by some of the greatest F1 drivers of their time, notable races and finishes included: (1) Jean-Louis Schlesser and Jochen Mass's first place finish in 1990's final race of the season in Mexico City (team was later disqualified) and (2) Karl Wendlinger, Michael Schumacher and Fritz Kreuzpointer's 5th place finish in 1991's Le Mans 24-Hours.
