Greg Anderson takes over No. 1
as day two of qualifying ends

POMONA, Calif. (February 10, 2006) - Greg Anderson, driver of the KB
Racing LLC/Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock Pontiac GTO, took over the
top spot in Pro Stock after today's second day of qualifying at the 2006
season-opening NHRA CARQUEST Auto Parts Winternationals.

Anderson, the reigning and three-time NHRA POWERade Pro Stock champion,
covered the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona quarter-mile in 6.665 seconds at
207.43 mph. His elapsed time was a track record, bettering the previous
E.T. of 6.677 seconds.

"It was kind of embarrassing yesterday," said Anderson, who tried to
drive through tire spin just off the starting line, followed by tire
shake and immediately shut off his GTO in yesterday's first round of
qualifying.. "I didn't want to start off the season like that. It was
a lot better today. The guys did a heck of a job. They knew what to do
and what screws to turn and I made a beautiful run."

Anderson's teammate, Jason Line, who led the field after yesterday's
first day of qualifying, improved his elapsed time but dropped to the
No. 6 position. Today, Line ran an elapsed time of 6.700 seconds at over
206 mph in his KB Racing LLC/Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GTO.

For Anderson, qualifying ends tomorrow (Saturday) with two additional
sessions at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Anderson begins his quest for the
CarQuest Winternationals Pro Stock title on Sunday with eliminations for
all classes beginning at 11 a.m. All times are local Pomona time (PST)
and subject to change at anytime.

Qualifying highlights for the 46th annual NHRA CARQUEST Auto Parts
Winternationals can be seen on ESPN2 on Saturday (Feb. 11) from 10 p.m.
until 12 midnight. ESPN2 will also air same-day television coverage of
eliminations from 7:30 until 10:30 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 12). The
elimination show repeats early Tuesday morning from 3-5 a.m. Television
