GCC Servicing Systems Sponsors GTO Race Car
GCC teams up with Spirit of Daytona Racing
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Feb. 10 -- GCC Servicing Systems is announcing its new sponsorship with Florida-based Sprit of Daytona Racing. GCC Servicing Systems has agreed to be an associate sponsor of the company's two Pontiac GTO Grand Sport race cars. The No. 9 and No. 10 GTOs will display the GCC Servicing Systems logo during the 2006 Grand-Am Cup Series.
GCC President, Glenn Liebowitz describes the sponsorship as a mutually beneficial partnership. "We feel that the Spirit of Daytona GTO GS cars represent a technologically advanced team that has been a proven leader on and off the track, just as GCC Servicing Systems is known as a leader in the servicing industry with our advanced servicing technology."
Another similarity Liebowitz points out is that both companies realize the importance of having a dedicated and knowledgeable pit crew to support the necessary functions of a successful finish. "A racer can't win without a strong pit crew to back him up, nor can a servicing shop be profitable and efficient without the support and help that comes from a dependable mortgage service bureau."
Troy Flis, Spirit of Daytona co-owner/team manager, is also excited about the new marketing partnership. Flis stated, "By sponsoring our GTOs, GCC Servicing will be able to race ahead of their competitors. The Grand-Am Cup series has increased in viewership and fan base. By sponsoring a Grand-Am Cup car, GCC Servicing has chosen a unique and effective marketing campaign. Racing challenges and successes provide a great platform and outlet for a marketing partnership."
The No. 9 GTO will be driven by 2002 Rolex 24 Hour AGT class Champions, Doug Goad and Craig Conway. The No. 10 GTO will be piloted by past Spirit of Daytona teammate, Mike Weinberg. The two cars had their first race of 2006 on Friday, January 27 at the Daytona International Speedway in conjunction with the 44th Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. The next race of the season will be on April 23 at the Virginia International Raceway.
