Iteris Announces Availability of New eAccess(TM) Video Transmission Product to Enable Remote Surveillance of Traffic Signal Operations; Initial End User Feedback and Growing Backlog Indicate Strong Customer Interest

ANAHEIM, Calif.--Feb. 8, 2006--Iteris, Inc. (AMEX:ITI), a leader in the development of vision-based technology that optimizes traffic flow and enhances driver safety, today announced the general availability of eAccess(TM), an IP-based Ethernet video transmission product designed to complement Iteris' Vantage(TM) line of vehicle detection systems.

eAccess provides connectivity between Vantage cameras and remote users by sending high quality MPEG-2 streaming video over IP-based networks. This connectivity allows for remote system configuration and validation, enables remote monitoring of traffic control operations and is expected to reduce field maintenance expenses. Additionally, the video feed can also be used for potential security applications. eAccess was previously available on a limited basis, but has now been successfully deployed by a number of agencies responsible for traffic management, including the City of Overland Park, Kansas.

"We believe the value proposition for Vantage users has become more compelling with the availability of eAccess," said Greg McKhann, Sr. Vice President and General Manager, Roadway Sensors for Iteris. "With IP-based communications increasingly available at the roadside, our customers now have a powerful way to leverage their investment in our video detection systems. Iteris is looking forward to working with innovative agencies, such as Overland Park, as we continue to provide them with tools to enhance their traffic management operations. We also want to recognize the ongoing contribution of our distribution partners, including Gades Sales in the case of Overland Park, for helping Iteris introduce this important new product," added McKhann.

"Our city is always looking for ways to improve traffic signal operations to enhance the quality of life for our citizens and reduce transportation costs for local businesses," said Shawn Gotfredson, a traffic engineer responsible for signal operations in Overland Park. "We are currently using 10 eAccess units to remotely validate the effectiveness of signal timing changes and increase our visibility of real time traffic conditions. These new capabilities, combined with the opportunity to reduce maintenance expenses, enable the City to better serve our community."

Vantage is a non-intrusive video-based system used to replace in-pavement inductive loops for traffic signal control and traffic data collection applications. Vantage systems are used to optimize the operation of traffic signals reducing delays and congestion for the motoring public. Additional benefits of video detection include improved lifecycle costs, reduced installation time and expense, ease-of-use and the ability to capture video images for surveillance or homeland security applications. Vantage systems have been deployed by hundreds of agencies in 49 states, as well as Asia, South America, Europe, and the Middle East. The product is currently sold through a network of over 20 independent dealers and one manufacture representative.
