TI Automotive Unit Earns GM Supplier of the Year Honors

SHANGHAI, China, Feb. 8, 2006 -- TI Automotive's Chinese operations recently received four major supplier of the year awards, including a General Motors award for outstanding performance.

The company also received honors from Hainan Mazda, a joint-venture firm created in 1992 by Mazda; FAW VW, joint-venture between Volkswagen and First Automotive Works; and Brilliance Auto, one of China's leading domestic car companies.

The GM "Supplier of the Year" award began as a global program in 1992. Winners are selected by the team of executives from the automaker's purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics departments, who base their decisions on metrics such as supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price.

Shanghai General Motors Executive Vice President Chris Gubby presented the top honor to Steven Wang Yong, TI Automotive China commercial director and Frank Zhao TI automotive account manager for GM China for its Bundy Fluid Systems facility in Shanghai.

"We are honored to be recognized as a supplier of the year by Shanghai General Motors," Wang said. "We have worked hard to satisfy and exceed GM's standards in the areas of program development, quality, on time delivery, value analysis, and value-engineering."

The company's Wuha/Hainan/Chongqing Operations was the recipient of the "Hainan Mazda Best Quality Supplier of the Year Award." Jacky Wang, general manager of the facility, accepted the award on behalf of TI Automotive.

TI Automotive's Changchun Operation received two awards -- the "FAW VW #1 of Top 10 Suppliers of the Year Award" and the "Brilliance Auto Excellent Supplier of the Year Award" on behalf of the plant. Alex Feng, general manager of the TI Automotive's Changchun facility, accepted the awards.
