Motorsports Authentics Names Veteran Merchandise Executive as President
CONCORD, N.C., Feb. 7, 2006 -- Ruth Crowley, a veteran merchandising, sales and marketing executive, has been named president of the Motorsports Authentics, the merchandise retailer owned in a 50/50 joint venture between International Speedway Corporation (ISC) and Speedway Motorsports, Inc. (SMI).
Crowley, 46, who currently serves as vice president, general merchandise for Harley-Davidson, Inc., will assume her duties March 1, and will report to the Motorsports Authentics Board of Managers, including ISC President Lesa France Kennedy and SMI Executive Vice President, National Sales and Marketing, Marcus Smith.
As President, Crowley will direct and oversee the acquisition and development of intellectual property licenses, coordinating with teams, drivers, sanctioning bodies, promoters and sponsors to enhance industry opportunities. In addition, Crowley will develop partnerships with best-in- class suppliers and manufacturers, develop and implement strategies with in- market retailers in all distribution channels, and liaise with promoters to optimize the trackside retail footprint, maximize points-of-sale and improve the fan experience.

As VP at Harley-Davidson, a position she has held since 2000, Crowley has re-crafted the assortments in General Merchandise, which includes fashion and functional apparel collection, into categories that include Leather, Sportswear, Helmet, etc. She also serves on the company's Executive Committee and is actively involved in the Retail Environment Group direction and relationships with the Dealer Network worldwide.

Crowley has also served as sr. vice president, retail -- recreation group at Universal Studios in Orlando (1998-2000); vice president, merchandise and retail concept portfolio, and merchandise manager at Host Marriott Services Corp. in Bethesda, Md. (1985-1998).
