Chicago Area Charities Receive Support From Bridgestone
Firestone Trust Fund In 2005
CHICAGO AREA CHARITIES RECEIVE SUPPORT FROM BRIDGESTONE FIRESTONE TRUST FUND
IN 2005
More than 20 local Chicago organizations received close to $48,000 in
donations from the Bridgestone Firestone Trust Fund in the past year. This
charitable arm of Bridgestone Americas Holding, Inc. (BSAH), wrapped up
another year of generous giving to its communities across the United States
including Chicagoland locations such as Bloomingdale which houses the
headquarters for BSAH¹s retail and commercial company, BFS Retail &
Commercial Operations, LLC (BFRC).
"We are so grateful for BFRC¹s continued commitment to Marklund,² said Vicki
Krystof, development coordinator for Marklund. ³We have been blessed with a
great partnership that aids in our mission of providing quality care to
individuals with developmental disabilities."
Annually, the Trust Fund makes contributions to worthy non-profit
organizations that address the welfare of children, education initiatives,
and environmental and conservation programs. Nearly 700 organizations
surrounding Bridgestone Americas locations across the country received
donations in 2005.
³We are committed to giving back to the community we call home,² said
Jennifer Cullerton, trust fund coordinator for BFRC. ³We take pride that our
Bridgestone Firestone Trust Fund gives us the opportunity to provide support
to so many local organizations.²
In the Chicago area, a diverse range of organizations received funds,
including the following: United Way of DuPage, Boys & Girls Club of Elgin,
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Alfred Campanelli YMCA, Junior Achievement,
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Friends of the Forest Preserves, Marklund
Charities, Association House of Chicago, Casa Central, Family Rescue, Lupus
Foundation of Illinois, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Special Leisure
Services Foundation, Access Community Health Network, The Harbour, Inc.,
Access Living, The Little City Foundation, DuPage Social Service
Association, Horizons for Youth, and Western DuPage Special Recreation
Association.
