Office of the Deputy Prime Minister Goes Live with Artemis 7; Artemis Solution Helps Shape the Future Delivery and Success of the Thames Gateway Program
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--Feb. 7, 2006--The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) has signed a framework agreement with Artemis International Solutions Corporation (OTCBB: AMSI).The Artemis solution is enabling the Thames Gateway Delivery Unit (TGDU) to manage ODPM's part of Government's GBP 6 billion investment in the Thames Gateway, which amounts to GBP 800 million. "The delivery of the Thames Gateway Program is a significant program within the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister," said Stephen Stringer, Deputy Head of the Thames Gateway Delivery Unit. "It is vital that we are able to track and report the performance of the Program, and have clear visibility of the all the information including the forecasts, outputs and expenditure. Following a pilot of the Artemis solution, which is also being used at the Regional Development Agencies, we have now gone live with the system.
"We adopted a phased approach to ensure that the system would address our immediate requirements, and our possible future requirements. A number of our delivery partners are now using the Artemis solution, and we look forward to working together with them and Artemis in successfully delivering the Thames Gateway Program."
"The Thames Gateway Program represents the future for London and the South East, and we are proud to have the opportunity to participate in this prestigious project," said Rob Legge, Managing Director Artemis International Corporation, UK. "Artemis has extensive experience in working with Government Programs and initiatives and the TGDU's selection of Artemis further validates the value, reliability and comprehensive nature of Artemis products and services. We look forward to a continuing successful relationship with the ODPM Thames Gateway Delivery Unit, and contributing to the ultimate success of the Thames Gateway Program."
About the Thames Gateway Program
The Thames Gateway Program is the largest regeneration project in Western Europe, covering an area of 40 miles long and 20 miles wide along the Thames riverside. This involves regenerating brownfield sites by establishing sustainable communities including the creation of 120,000 new homes and 180,000 new jobs, as well as developing the infrastructure for the main London 2012 Olympics site that is being created in the Thames Gateway in Stratford.
Together, Prime Minister Tony Blair and Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott launched the detailed Thames Gateway strategy while visiting Gravesend, Kent, in March 2005. They also announced that a total of GBP 6 billion is being invested by Government in Thames Gateway, including a dedicated Program managed by ODPM Thames Gateway Delivery Unit.
The Thames Gateway Program involves managing a minimum of 60 projects per annum, distributed amongst 30 delivery partners. TGDU has overall responsibility for managing the Program which includes measurement of physical outputs such as jobs and housing, managing projects against key theme categorizations, such as Town Centre Generations, monitoring of capital expenditure, and geographical reporting on housing built in Parliamentary constituency, ward, etc.
