DETROIT, Feb. 3 -- On Wednesday, February 8, 2006, Super Bowl XL Host Committee Chairman Roger Penske will be recognized as the 2005 Crain's Newsmaker of the Year.
The meeting -- at 12 p.m. at the Detroit Marriott, Renaissance Center in Detroit -- is co-hosted by the Detroit Economic Club (DEC), Crain's Detroit Business and Inforum, formerly the Women's Economic Club.
"Penske has transferred the business acumen he uses to run a wide-ranging organization of transportation, automotive sales and service, truck leasing and motor sports business into his role as Super Bowl XL Host Committee chairman," stated a recent article in Crain's Detroit Business. "It is for this reason he is Crain's Newsmaker of the Year."
