FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
KENNY WALLACE TO HOST NASCAR SHOW ON KMOX RADIO
ST. LOUIS, MO (January 30, 2006) - KMOX announced today that Kenny Wallace,
one of the most popular drivers on the NASCAR circuit, will host a special
edition of the “Chrysler Jeep Sports Open Line?? on KMOX throughout the stock
car racing season. The program will air Friday nights at 7:00pm central time
from February 17 through November 17, 2006.
Wallace, who drives the #22 AutoZone Ford for ppc Racing, will provide a
weekly update on the NASCAR Busch Series, profile some of NASCAR’s biggest
personalities and take calls from KMOX sports fans from around the country.
Wallace will broadcast each show from different race tracks across the country in
comfort of his RV.
KMOX Director of Programming and Operations, Steve Moore said, "Kenny
Wallace is an amazing personality who has been blessed with the gift of gab. As a
talk show host, it's a perfect fit. His passion for KMOX is only exceeded by
his passion for auto racing, so we're excited about the opportunity to work
with Kenny and to provide NASCAR a much deserved platform in this market."
Wallace, a St. Louis native, is a fan favorite who competes in NASCAR's
Busch Series and Nextel Cup Series. In 2005, he captured seventh place in the
Busch Series point standings in the #22 AutoZone Ford and he competed in the
last two Nextel Cup Series races for Roush Racing, finishing 16th and 21st.
Wallace’s new radio program will update listeners as he battles with the some
best drivers in the world for the Busch Series Championship throughout 2006.
Wallace’s brothers, Rusty and Mike, have been mainstays on the NASCAR scene
for many years. Like his brothers, Kenny learned his trade competing on dirt
tracks in the St. Louis area and working on Rusty's cars. When he's not
hitting the straightaways pushing 200 miles an hour, he is a popular commentator
on SPEED Channel’s NASCAR RaceDay and NASCAR Victory Lane.
