Frosting on the Cake of their 44th Wedding Anniversary
DETROIT, Jan. 26 -- One lucky Brighton couple will get celebrity treatment just in time for the Super Bowl, after having won the prize of a lifetime: two tickets to the Super Bowl, tickets to a game day brunch and the Motown Post-game party at Seldom Blues, tickets to "Salute to Detroit's 40 Greatest Athletes" at the Fox Theatre and a trip for two to Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
In a lucky twist of fate, the day Edward M. Hodgens, winner of the prize, and his wife return from their free trip to Paradise Island, they will be celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary. The couple won the extraordinary game and vacation package in the Chrysler Jeep Superstores Super Sunday Giveaway.
Hodgens was selected from a group of people who had entered the contest at Metro Detroit's 39 Chrysler Jeep Superstores. He entered the contest at the Pinckney Chrysler Jeep Dealership.
The announcement was made Thursday by Jim Schebil, president of the Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association.
The prize has a stated retail value of $4,900, but Hodgens may consider the Super Bowl tickets and prize priceless. After he and his wife have filled up on Super Bowl fun and excitement, they will be able to test their own sports skills -- the trip to Paradise Island includes an afternoon of golf as well as spa treatments to unwind afterwards.
