Stopol to Host Auction of Atek Michigan Plant
SOLON, Ohio--Jan. 2, 20065, 2006--Stopol, Inc. -- a leader in managing auctions, and buying and selling production equipment, parts, businesses, divisions, product lines and manufacturing licenses in the plastics industry -- will host and web cast an auction March 1 to sell plastics manufacturing equipment from discontinuing operations at Atek Thermoforming, Inc.'s Belleville, Michigan, plant.Stopol will conduct a live auction beginning at 10:05 a.m. (EST) March 1 at Atek's 44,700-sq.-ft. Belleville facility and web cast the event on www.stopolauctions.com so that bidders from all over the world can participate in the event using their PCs. Stopol will hold a preview at the plant February 28. Interested bidders also may contact Stopol to arrange for a private inspection. A limited selection of Atek equipment will be available for sale before the live auction through www.stopolauctions.com's 24/7 Reserve auction portal.
The Atek auction will feature eight thermoformers from some of the top brands in plastics equipment manufacturing, including Comet, Brown, Modern and Shuman. The event also will feature an array of toolroom and office equipment and accessories. Privately held Atek, which employed over 300 people at one time, manufactured automotive exterior and interior parts such as trim, dash components, arm rest consoles and floor mats. The company closed its doors in March.
