HANS Performance Products Sponsors Chest Protector Contest

ATLANTA, Jan. 23, 2006 -- HANS Performance Products, worldwide leaders, inventors, and manufacturers of the internationally award winning HANS(R) Device is offering a contest to win a free Armadillo chest protector from Team Valhalla Racing.

HANS Performance Products is giving away fifty Armadillo chest protectors through an essay contest. Designed for children ages 5-12, in any karting organization, drivers will be asked to write an essay about racing and the safety aspects involved.

"As the leading experts in head and neck restraints, it's our pleasure to be involved with karting and Team Valhalla Racing to show the youngest drivers what equipment they need to keep themselves safe," said Marketing Manager, Andrea Walker. Invented because of a friend's death, Jim Downing (long time SCCA racer) and Dr. Bob Hubbard (bio-mechanical Engineer) created the most prominent head and neck restraint to date, the HANS Device. "It doesn't matter who you are, or how fast you drive, safety should be the number one priority," continued Andrea. "Kids are at a risk of getting hurt as they're still growing and we're proud to assist in their protection."
