Edinburgh Business School Awards Its First Hispanic Heritage M.B.A. Scholarship to Cuban-American Female
MIAMI, Jan. 23, 2006 -- The Edinburgh Business School (EBS) of Heriot-Watt University, a Royal Charter University in Scotland with U.S.-based headquarters in Coral Gables, Florida, has selected Raquel Egusquiza, a Ford Motor Company Director of Community Development and International Strategy based in Washington D.C., as their first Hispanic Heritage M.B.A. Scholarship recipient. Ms. Egusquiza, born in the U.S. of Cuban-American parents, was chosen from a national pool of hundreds of up-and-coming Hispanics.
Daniel Pease, President of EBS Americas, commented, "Like the great majority of our Fortune 100 M.B.A. students, Raquel, due to her professional obligations over the years, has not had the opportunity to participate in a traditional MBA program. The EBS M.B.A will afford her a quality higher education while meeting her job-related obligations and ensuring greater future opportunities." The short list of candidates were chosen for their individual professional accomplishments in their respective fields as well as their community involvement, with Ms. Egusquiza ahead of her peers based on her own set of distinguished accomplishments within Ford Motor Company, AT&T, and her unwavering commitment to her community.
The Edinburgh Business School M.B.A. program is the result of many years of research at Stanford University on the different ways in which students learn, and the changing demands placed on modern-day professionals. The result has been one of the most successful international M.B.A programs, listed among Ivy League schools for the past 17 years in The Economist's "Which M.B.A.: A Critical Guide to the World's Best Programs."
