Taiwan's Ford Lio Ho Offers Garmin(R) StreetPilot

SHIJR, Taiwan, Jan. 20, 2006 -- Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. , today announced that Ford Lio Ho in Taiwan is expanding its program offering a StreetPilot(R) c320 with every Ford vehicle purchased before the Chinese Lunar New Year.

The Garmin giveaway program began in November 2005 with just one model, and has been extended through the end of the Lunar Year to include a number of different Ford vehicles, including the Focus, Activa, Tierra, RS Mondeo, Metrostar, and Escape series.

"We are very excited to be partnered with Ford to offer our most popular automotive navigation unit for the Taiwanese market," said Gary Kelley, Garmin's vice president of marketing. "It's further evidence that Garmin products are sought after around the world."

"Ford Lio Ho has been very pleased with the response to our Garmin giveaway -- so pleased that we've extended the offer to allow more people to take advantage," said Jeffrey Y.C. Shen, president of Ford Lio Ho. "Young people and families can begin the new year with a new Ford vehicle and the peace-of-mind of reliable GPS navigation."

Garmin's StreetPilot series provides portable, in-car navigation that is simple for anyone to use directly out-of-the-box with comprehensive and detailed street-level map data of Taiwan. After selecting a destination from the touch screen, the unit will guide the user to their destination through Chinese voice prompted and written directions with a three-dimensional, moving map. If the driver misses a turn, the StreetPilot automatically calculates a new route to the destination. The StreetPilot may be mounted very quickly to an automobile's windshield by a suction-mount cradle.
