Johnson Controls to Explore Strategic Alternatives for Bristol Compressor Unit
MILWAUKEE, Jan. 20, 2006 -- Johnson Controls, Inc. today announced that it has begun exploring various strategic alternatives for its Bristol Compressor business. The business is part of York International Corporation, which Johnson Controls acquired on December 9, 2005.
Bristol Compressors operates facilities in Bristol, Virginia. It manufactures a full line of scroll and reciprocating compressors that are used in air conditioning and heat pump applications.
William Blair and Company LLC, based in Chicago, has been retained by Johnson Controls as financial advisor to assist the company in the process.
