Fujitsu Drives Canadian Tire Rollout to Completion; Reduced Maintenance Costs by 50 Percent and Lane Counts by 10 Percent
NEW YORK--Jan. 1, 20067, 2006--Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc., Canadian Tire Retail and the Canadian Tire Dealers' Association have completed a 459-store, chain-wide retail technology rollout that included Fujitsu's TeamPoS 2000 M point-of-sale (POS) hardware, PRIMERGY TX150 back-office servers and a host of managed services."Fujitsu managed the complex rollout of store systems across many stores and a lot of lanes very quickly, efficiently and without any hitches," said Andy Wnek, senior vice president of information technology and chief information officer at Canadian Tire Corporation. "The new technology will enable us to undertake new customer-centric initiatives that improve our shopping experience."
Fujitsu has redefined the store system maintenance contract. The innovative Fujitsu Retainer Plus Services Model is a collaborative approach that removes low-value activities and costs from the traditional, insurance-driven service delivery models to create savings that flow directly to Canadian Tire Dealers' bottom line.
