Exciting New Forums During NAIAS 2006 Attracts More Than 35,000 Attendees During Industry Preview Days

DETROIT, Jan. 15 -- The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) Industry Preview Days, held on Jan. 11, 2006 and 12, hosted more than 35,000 automotive industry professionals who took advantage of the venue's exclusive opportunity to experience the NAIAS' production and concept vehicles first-hand while participating in numerous networking and educational events.
"Industry Preview Days are the perfect means for industry professionals to connect with others in the field and learn about all of the cutting-edge technologies that made their debut at the 2006 NAIAS," said NAIAS 2006 senior co-chairman Richard Genthe.
This year, featured events during Industry Preview Days included: * 13th Annual AutoWeek Design Forum - The Forum examined iconic design and explored the importance of design in the auto world and also the consumer product world. The Forum took place in Cobo Center's Riverview Ballroom on Wednesday, January 11. The event featured John Lasseter, director of "Cars" and executive vice president, Pixar Animation Studios. * Fifth Annual Newspaper Association of America Automotive Advertising Symposium -- Entitled "Automotive Advertising -- The Engagement Challenge," the symposium is a day-long dialogue for senior newspaper executives in Cobo Center. * Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Symposium -- Entitled "The 21st Century Automotive Customer," the symposium explored the diverse expectations of consumers in today's marketplace. * Inforum's Annual Auto Show Breakfast -- Entitled "The Art of Design: Capturing the Hearts and Minds of Women Consumers."
Industry Preview Days were sponsored by the MEDC, Detroit Automobile Dealer's Association (DADA) and BusinessWeek.
NAIAS 2006 Official Dates
Press Preview Days were held Sunday, Jan. 8, through Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006. Industry Preview Days were held on Wednesday, Jan. 11 and Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006. The Charity Preview was held Friday evening, Jan. 13, 2006. The public is encouraged to call 888-838-7500 to purchase for tickets for the 2007 Charity Preview. Public Days are Saturday, Jan. 14, through Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006.
