Yazaki Corporation Receives DaimlerChrysler's 2005 Global Supplier Award

CANTON, Mich., Jan. 13, 2006 -- Yazaki Corporation (Yazaki), a leading supplier of vehicle power and data solutions to the global automotive industry, received DaimlerChrysler's 2005 Global Supplier Award. The award recognizes Yazaki as its top electrical/electronics supplier for 2005.

Yasuhiko Yazaki, Chairman of Yazaki Corporation, accepted the award at the third annual awards ceremony on Wednesday, January 11. The event was held in conjunction with the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and presented the theme, "Together on the Road of Success."

"DaimlerChrysler's unique approach to cooperation with its suppliers is based on transparency, objectivity and close collaboration," said Thomas W. Sidlik, DaimlerChrysler AG Board of Management member, responsible for Global Procurement and Supply. The Global Supplier Award is presented to a single supplier in each of eight commodity categories - Interior, Exterior, Chassis, Electrical/Electronics, Powertrain, General Goods & Services, Manufacturing Goods & Services and Logistics. The award honors the top global suppliers for benchmark performance in quality, systems cost, technology and supply performance and represents the collective decision of the Chrysler Group, Mercedes Car Group and DaimlerChrysler's Commercial Vehicle Division.

In his acceptance speech, Yasuhiko Yazaki said, "I cannot begin to express the joy and pride I feel today, and I look forward to sharing this feeling with the over 18,000 people around the world working with DaimlerChrysler at 17 Yazaki bases in 11 nations. I wish to express our sincere appreciation to the people of DaimlerChrysler, without whose dedicated support and cooperation this achievement would not have been possible."
