NAIAS partners up with Metro Networks and Click & Park

DETROIT, Jan. 12 -- Attendees to Public Days of the 2006 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at COBO Conference/Exhibition Center will find convenient and accessible parking and transportation downtown.

"Our goal is to make getting downtown and to the NAIAS as easy as possible," said NAIAS 2006 Senior Co-Chairman Richard Genthe. "The NAIAS is actively working with Metro Networks and the City of Detroit to provide up-to-the-minute information on traffic patterns and available parking throughout the show. NAIAS also has partnered with Click and Park to give attendees the opportunity to buy and reserve parking spaces in advance."

Metro Networks/Shadow Broadcast Services (Metro/Shadow) is the largest supplier of traffic, news, sports and weather programming to the broadcasting industry. Metro/Shadow is heard by more than 100 million adults throughout the U.S., on more than 2,200 radio and TV affiliates.

Click and Park is an online parking system that allows show attendees the convenience of purchasing a parking space in select lots near the NAIAS up to 24 hours prior to attending. Parking spaces can be purchased through http://www.clickandpark.com/ . The Web site provides access to select Miller Parking, Sterling Group and Park-Rite lots up to 24 hours before each show day and offers personalized directions and various routes to each lot.

The NAIAS Web site ( http://www.naias.com/ ) now features an interactive map of Detroit that includes all parking garages as well as driving directions. In addition to the Web site, attendees also should check their local media outlets for traffic patterns and weather conditions before heading to the show.

The NAIAS is running shuttle buses daily along the Detroit River from Joe Louis Arena to the Renaissance Center parking structures. Updates on shuttle times and stops can be found at http://www.naias.com/ , under "Directions and Travel." In addition, the Detroit People Mover is fully functional, and has several convenient stops near the NAIAS. Visit http://www.thepeoplemover.com/ for additional information.
