PRIMEDIA Names Ira Gabriel Publisher of MOTOR TREND
NEW YORK--Jan. 12, 2006--PRIMEDIA Inc. , the country's leading targeted media company, today announced the promotion of Ira Gabriel to the position of MOTOR TREND publisher. Recognized as the world's number one automotive authority, MOTOR TREND has a total readership of more than 7 million and is part of PRIMEDIA's Consumer Automotive Group. Mr. Gabriel most recently served as the vice president of Sales and Marketing for PRIMEDIA's Performance Automotive Group, where he was responsible for managing sales and marketing initiatives across 55 automotive titles, such as Hot Rod, Truckin' and Motorcyclist.Mr. Gabriel's experience in the automotive industry spans nearly two decades. He will leverage this expertise to further MOTOR TREND as a leading global brand, working to create integrated marketing programs for both endemic and non-endemic advertisers alongside recently appointed AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE publisher, Brad Gerber. Both Mr. Gabriel and Mr. Gerber report directly to Steve Parr, senior vice president of PRIMEDIA and president of PRIMEDIA Automotive.

Mr. Gabriel joins MOTOR TREND on the heels of a significant redesign program led by internationally acclaimed automotive editor-in-chief, Angus MacKenzie.

Mr. Gabriel has held various executive positions at PRIMEDIA. He began his career in publishing at Petersen (now part of PRIMEDIA) in 1988 and went on to launch more than 20 automotive-branded websites. In 2001, he was named publisher of Hot Rod Magazine, one of PRIMEDIA's flagship performance automotive titles. While at Hot Rod, Mr. Gabriel was responsible for the tremendous growth of the brand's franchise that includes the development of Hot Rod TV, www.hotrod.com, the Hot Rod Power Tour, and a range of Hot Rod-branded licensed products. Most recently, Mr. Gabriel served as vice president of Sales and Marketing for the Performance Automotive Group, where he successfully managed the Group's National Account Managers.
