New Exhibits, Designs at 2006 North American International Auto Show Bring Extensive Media Coverage and Celebrities

DETROIT, Jan. 11, 2006 -- Journalists from across the nation and all over the world visited Cobo Center for Press Days at the 2006 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). In more than 40 press conferences, over 6,000 members of the international press from more than 80 countries got the first look at unrivaled new exhibits featuring exciting production and concept vehicles.

"The media coverage at this year's show is phenomenal," said NAIAS 2006 Senior Co-Chairman Richard Genthe. "The exhibits this year will drive your senses wild with innovative design. The auto industry is the heart and soul of this region. To be able to share that excitement with the world through NAIAS 2006 is a great privilege."

Among the internationally renowned media attending Press Days were: "Good Morning America," "CNBC Powerlunch," CNN, "Today Show," "Weekend Today," MTV's "Meet the Barkers," "ABC World News Tonight," BBC TV, "CBS Evening News," China Central TV and NBC Sports.

Along with the exciting award ceremonies and innovative press conferences, Hollywood left its mark during this year's NAIAS Press Days. Appearances from some of the world's most famous celebrities including: star of "Desperate Housewives" Eva Longoria; MTV's "Meet the Barker's" star, Travis Barker; comedian David Spade; well known Los Angeles entertainer, DJ AM; and actress Angie Harmon, best known for her role on Law and Order.

As the NAIAS continues, even more media coverage is expected, with highlights on "The Today Show," "MTV News," as well as NBC Sports, which will continue its partnership with NAIAS 2006 by broadcasting its second annual "International Auto Show" program. Airing on Jan. 22, 2006, millions of viewers will get to watch coverage of NAIAS 2006 from 1-3 p.m. EST on local NBC affiliates, including WDIV-4 in Detroit. NAIAS 2006 Official Dates

Press Preview Days will be held Sunday, Jan. 8, through Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006. Industry Preview Days will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 11 and Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006. The Charity Preview will be held Friday evening, Jan. 13, 2006. The public is encouraged to call 888-838-7500 to be placed on a wait list for tickets to the 2006 Charity Preview. Public Days are Saturday, Jan. 14, through Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006.
