Law Firm of Lindahl Gross Lievois is Acquired by Cleveland-Based McDonald Hopkins

Lindahl Gross Lievois Now Offers Network of More Than 100 Attorneys

DETROIT, Jan. 11 -- The law firm of Lindahl Gross Lievois (LGL) announces that it has been acquired by McDonald Hopkins Co., LPA - a full-service business law firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. Lindahl Gross Lievois will maintain its current practices at it existing offices in Bingham Farms, Mich., under the new McDonald Hopkins name, effective immediately.

LGL will be included in McDonald Hopkins' base of more than 100 business- attorneys, with office locations in Cleveland, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; and West Palm Beach, Fla. The Detroit office will now be part of a full-service firm that offers business restructuring, litigation, and business law, including intellectual property, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, health law, employment and labor, estate planning, and tax.

"With the backing of a large, multi-practice firm, such as McDonald Hopkins, we will be able to grow in strategic areas, while providing existing clients with a greater depth of service," said Stephen Gross, shareholder and Detroit office managing shareholder. "We considered several other mergers, and McDonald Hopkins was the best fit."

LGL was formed by Tom Lindahl and Steve Gross in 1988 to meet the legal needs of businesses, especially those experiencing financial distress. Over the years, LGL has grown with its clients as they successfully restructured and flourished. With six attorneys, LGL focuses its practices on corporate law, restructuring business transactions and commercial matters. It has continuously attracted new business clients, as well as assisting clients in dealing with ever more complicated restructurings.

For the 80-year-old McDonald Hopkins firm, the acquisition represents a strategic advancement to provide legal business services in the Greater Detroit area. McDonald Hopkins President Joe LoPresti says, "Detroit is an important market for us, and Lindahl Gross Lievois fits our culture well."

In the past five years, McDonald Hopkins has more than doubled its attorney base and opened up offices in Columbus, Ohio, and West Palm Beach, Fla. In addition to Gross, five other LGL attorneys will merge into McDonald Hopkins.
