LUCAS OIL RENEWS TITLE SPONSORSHIP OF NHRA POWERADE SERIES EVENT AT
BRAINERD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

 

GLENDORA, Calif. (Jan. 10, 2005) - Lucas Oil Products, an industry
leader in lubricants and fuel treatments, has renewed its multi-year
agreement to remain the title sponsor of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing
Series event at Brainerd International Raceway (BIR), it was announced
today by NHRA officials.

 

The 2006 Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals will be held Aug. 10-13 at the
spacious quarter-mile facility located in the popular resort area of
Brainerd, in central Minnesota. The $1.6 million race, which will be
televised by ESPN2, is the 16th of 23 events in the $50 million NHRA
POWERade Series for 2006.

 

"We've had a great relationship with the NHRA and it has proven to be
profitable for us," said Forrest Lucas, president and CEO of Lucas Oil
Products of Corona, Calif. "We have a plan behind all this and it's
working out perfectly.       

 

"We want to have race sponsorships and Brainerd was one we definitely
wanted to hold on to. We like Minnesota and the people at BIR. It's an
outlet for us to reach our Canadian customers and Lucas Oil has a big
Canadian business base."

 

Lucas Oil Products also is the title sponsor for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag
Racing Series for sportsman competitors. Lucas Oil Products is an
associate sponsor for several professional category teams, including
two-time POWERade Top Fuel world champion Larry Dixon and the
Budweiser/Lucas Oil dragster driven by Brandon Bernstein.

In addition to renewing its sponsorship of this significant event, the
Lucas family also will debut its Morgan Lucas Racing Top Fuel team in
2006 under the direction of driver and General Manager Morgan Lucas, son
of Forrest and Charlotte Lucas.
