CAROLINA/VIRGINIA FOCUS SERIES RELEASES 2006 SCHEDULE

INDIANAPOLIS – A total of 11 races make up the initial 2006 schedule for the
USAC Carolina/Virginia Ford Focus Midget Car Series schedule.

Four of the 11 dates, including three of the season’s first four, will be
held at the .363-mile Hickory Motor Speedway in North Carolina. The first of
those four is scheduled for April 22. Three others will be held at the
4/10-mile Shenandoah Speedway in Virginia, and two at Friendship Motor
Speedway in Elkin, N.C.

The season opener is scheduled for April 15 at Southern National Speedway in
Kenly, N.C., the first for the Focus Midgets at the 4/10-mile track. A
combined show with the Midwest Pavement Ford Focus Series at Kentucky
Speedway in Sparta, Ky. is set for the second weekend of July.

“I’m pretty happy with the first 11 races we’ve booked for the 2006 season,”
said series coordinator Tracy Trotter. “We’re still in negotiations with
some other tracks for more dates, so I think realistically we can end up
with a 16-race schedule.”

Chase Scott of Concord, N.C. is the series’ two-time defending champion.
