2006 North American International Auto Show Industry Preview Days Welcomes Industry Insiders and Celebrities

DETROIT, Jan. 10, 2006 -- Prior to opening to the public, the 2006 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) will again dedicate two days as Industry Preview Days: Wednesday, January 11 from noon - 9 p.m. and Thursday, January 12, from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.

"This year Industry Preview Days will feature some spectacular events, special to our automotive colleagues," said NAIAS 2006 senior co-chairman, Richard Genthe. "We are excited to continue to host an exclusive preview for the people who work so hard to keep the industry successful."

Industry Preview Days are an exclusive opportunity for companies in the automotive industry to get a sneak peek at what NAIAS 2006 has to offer.

Before officially opening to the public, Industry Preview Days serve as a chance for automotive companies to invite their key contacts, suppliers and employees to preview the show and share the excitement of one of the most prestigious auto shows in the world.

This year, featured events during Industry Preview Days include:

* 13th Annual AutoWeek Design Forum - The Forum examines iconic design and explores the importance of design in the auto world and also the consumer product world. The Forum takes place in Cobo Center's Riverview Ballroom from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11. The event will feature John Lasseter, director of "Cars" and executive vice president, Pixar Animation Studios.

* Fifth Annual Newspaper Association of America Automotive Advertising Symposium - Titled "Automotive Advertising - The Engagement Challenge," the symposium is a day-long dialogue for senior newspaper executives on Wednesday, January 11 in Cobo Center, room W1-54 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. This event is by invitation only.

* Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Symposium - Titled "The 21st Century Automotive Customer," the symposium will explore the diverse expectations of consumers in today's marketplace on Wednesday, January 11 from 9 a.m. - noon at the NAIAS Stage in Michigan Hall.

* Inforum's Annual Auto Show Breakfast - Titled "The Art of Design: Capturing the Hearts and Minds of Women Consumers," the annual breakfast will take place on Thursday, January 12 from 7:30 - 9 a.m. at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center.

NAIAS 2006 Official Dates

Press Preview Days will be held Sunday, Jan. 8, through Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006. Industry Preview Days will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 11 and Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006. The Charity Preview will be held Friday evening, Jan. 13, 2006. The public is encouraged to call 888-838-7500 to be placed on a wait list for tickets to the 2006 Charity Preview. Public Days are Saturday, Jan. 14, through Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006.
