2006 North American International Auto Show Introduces New, Convenient Parking System

DETROIT, Jan. 8 -- The 2006 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) has partnered with Click and Park to institute a new parking system during NAIAS 2006 Public Days, Jan. 14, 2006-22. Designed to make NAIAS parking easier for attendees, the Click and Park online parking system allows show attendees the convenience of purchasing a parking space in select lots near the NAIAS up to 24 hours prior to attending.

"Our goal is to get attendees to Cobo Center as fast and efficiently as possible," said NAIAS 2006 senior co-chairman Richard Genthe. "Click and Park is an excellent system that has been used at college bowl games, the last two Super Bowls and the World War II Memorial Dedication in Washington D.C. We are excited to institute this innovative system that we hope will make traveling to the NAIAS more convenient for the 800,000 plus annual attendees."

Parking spaces can be purchased through www.ClickandPark.com. The Web site provides access to select Miller Parking, Sterling Group and Park-Rite lots up to 24 hours before each show day and offers personalized directions and various routes to each lot. As each route reaches its anticipated capacity, alternate routes are posted to help disperse the traffic going to Cobo Center. Users will receive an email confirmation and ePermit to print along with customized directions within eight hours of their purchase.

"The prepaid parking system increases customer satisfaction on a variety of levels," said Tony Vitrano, president of Click and Park. "Guests can now enjoy a virtually hassle-free parking experience."

To purchase a space through Click and Park follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to www.naias.com
  2. Click on "Directions and Travel" and select pre-purchase parking
  3. Select date you plan to attend the NAIAS and click "view event parking"
  4. Select lot from various parking areas
  5. Enter credit card number and personal information
  6. Receive ePermit, parking permit and customized directions via email
  7. Print ePermit and bring with you for selected lot access

Each Click and Park location will also offer a convenient shuttle service to and from Cobo Center. Shuttle details can be found on www.naias.com. If a customer is unable to go online or print their permit, they should contact Click and Park Customer Service directly at 866-330-PARK during business hours of Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. ET.
