From A to Z -- Automotive applications to ZigBee(TM) home networking -- Freescale Semiconductor is showcasing a broad range of break-through technologies at the annual International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) January 5-8, 2006 in Las Vegas.
The nation's third-largest chipmaker is featuring a variety of next-generation products and demonstrations for audio visual, infotainment, automotive, home appliance, wireless and networking applications.

-- Toshiba's gigabeat S Series line of hard disc drive (HDD) digital video and audio players, based on Freescale's multimedia applications processor and power management technologies
-- the Belkin "Cable-Free USB" product suite that enables wireless audio, video and data streaming using Freescale's Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology
-- Hawking Technologies' HomeRemote(TM) System, based on Freescale's ZigBee technology, enabling wireless sensors and devices for home monitoring and control
-- the Gefen Inc. wireless USB extender product powered by Freescale's UWB technology allowing for high speed wireless connection between any USB 2.0 devices
-- SimpleDevices' advanced digital media player solutions for the automotive market, based on the MPC5200 processor family containing a PowerPC(R) core and powered by SimpleDevices SimpleWare software platforms
-- the Open Interface BLUETusk(TM) demonstration streaming HD video over a Bluetooth(R) protocol using UWB
-- ViewSonic digital signage display technology powered by the MPC8270 PowerQUICC(TM) II communications processor
-- MC44S803 single-chip broadband tuner that simplifies set-top box designs for a wide range of home entertainment appliances

CES showcase areas powered by Freescale technology
Freescale is sponsoring the CNET Stage in the convention center's South Hall 3 lobby and will be featuring presentations of the new Toshiba gigabeat S Series digital video and audio players.
The company is sponsoring a Concierge Bar where visitors will enjoy live feeds of CES keynote sessions, as well as the NFL Playoffs. The high definition (HD) programming is delivered wirelessly via Freescale's UWB technology. Additionally, visitors can test their trivia knowledge with Qwizdom's wireless gaming system powered by Freescale.
Freescale is participating in the CES Innovations Plus "TechZones" and the EETimes Great Minds, Great Ideas exhibition at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Halls B and C. At the Innovations Plus Bluetooth(R) TechZone (Booth 70448F) and the USB TechZone (Booth 70050J), Freescale is showcasing UWB applications. Additionally, Freescale is showcasing certified Wi-Fi solutions at the Wi-Fi Alliance Product Showcase located in the South Hall, Booth 37031.
