Walter Thompson (JWT) to provide interactive signage, employing the company's signature approach to experience-based design, for Ford Motor Company at Super Bowl XL.o2 was retained to execute the JWT creative campaign, conceptualizing and creating a series of larger-than-life advertising pieces for installation at Detroit's Ford Field, the NFL's premier indoor stadium and one of the league's most exciting new venues. o2 captures the essence and energy of each model in Ford's 2006 line-up and translates that into an unforgettable and uniquely personal experience. Attendees of Super Bowl XL will be introduced to the Ford brand in an entirely new and surprising way.
These larger-than-life billboards break through visual clutter -- literally -- by incorporating experience design into advertising that is interactive, immersive and inspired. One billboard drives home the Ford truck image by featuring what appears to be the aftermath of a Ford vehicle driving through a wall. The hole that it creates extends real-time views of the playing field that exists on the other side. In another piece, the viewer stands in front of an interactive media wall where his or her image is captured and then displayed in the driver's seat of the featured vehicle. By bringing the consumer into the experience of an advertising idea, brand essence is suddenly no longer a static concept but an idea that lives and breathes, forging a distinct and personal connection that persists in the consumer's imagination long after the experience is over.
Ford Field will feature these attention-grabbing and buzz-inspiring installations throughout the 65,000-seat stadium, making the message and the experience of these pieces broadly accessible to attendees, officials and press.
