Pioneer Packs 6-Discs of Entertainment in Its Newest Multi-Media System; Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD Provides Endless Entertainment

LAS VEGAS--Jan. 4, 2006--A new in-car multi-media entertainment system introduced today by Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. meets consumers' demands for more sophisticated in-car entertainment products. Designed to replace most double-DIN stock radio for a seamless in-dash integration, the AVH-P6800DVD provides endless entertainment with a built-in 6-disc DVD/CD changer, 7-inch TFT motorized touch screen display, MP3/WMA playback, XM and Sirius Satellite Radio capability, enhanced iPod control ability and Bluetooth wireless attachment.

"With a multi-media system like the AVH-P6800DVD, drivers can listen to a variety of music sources, entertain rear-seat passengers with DVD video and utilize hands-free features like Bluetooth simultaneously," said Larry Rougas, vice president of marketing and product planning for the mobile entertainment division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

The AVH-P6800DVD is the first product to offer a 6-disc multi-format in-dash player. The versatile system can be loaded with up to six discs including DVD-video, DVD-R/RW, CD/CD-R/RW or recorded CDs with MP3/WMA. The intelligent multi-media system will accept any configuration for hours of audio and rear-seat video entertainment. For easy operation, Pioneer developed an advanced user interface to control different sources through its 7-inch TFT touch screen panel. The Pioneer touch panel screen provides crisp picture quality that minimizes reflection without adversely affecting contrast levels. The large 1440 x 230 resolution display and graphical users interface (GUI) make it easy to identify source information and controls many of the features with a touch of the screen.

Like many of Pioneer's 12-volt products, the AVH-P6800DVD can be enhanced with add-on products utilizing Pioneer's IP-Bus system. Optional attachments for satellite radio, iPod, Bluetooth, vehicle dynamics, TV tuner and navigation are available and can be easily integrated to create an even more comprehensive audio, video and information system. In addition, portable music players also can be easily integrated through the unit's built-in auxiliary input.

Optional attachments include:

-- Enhanced iPod(R) Controls -- Full control of the Apple iPod(R) including multi-line display and list search functions operate with the CD-IB100II iPod(R) adapter.

-- Bluetooth Capability -- The system can be integrated with a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone using the CD-BTB100. The touch panel is utilized to display phone information including caller ID and phone address book, while the microphone (included with the CD-BTB100) and the vehicle speakers are used for hands-free calling.

-- Vehicle Dynamics Processor ready -- The unit is compatible with the AVG-VDP1 vehicle dynamics processor. The touch screen controls and displays all AVG-VDP1 functions to measure and display vehicle performance such as G-force, acceleration, etc.

-- IP-Bus Control -- The unit connects to add-on Pioneer IP-Bus products including XM and SIRIUS Satellite Radio tuners, TV tuner, DVD/CD changer, etc.

Other features include MOSFET50 50 watts X 4, Easy EQ, two-way crossover, remote control and three sets of Hi-Volt RCA pre-amp outputs.

The AVH-P6800DVD will be available in May 20, 200606.
