Siemens VDO Appoints David Royce Director of Corporate Strategy
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 4, 2006 -- Siemens VDO has appointed David Royce to Director of the company's North American Corporate Strategy department effective October 2005. He is responsible for identifying, assessing and realizing business opportunities that will advance the company towards the leading position in the North American market, which includes strategy implementation; technology planning; mergers and acquisitions; industry, market and competitive research; and, coordination of strategic projects.
Royce joined Siemens VDO in 1999 as a member of the company's internal consulting group, working on various global and regional benchmarking and merger and acquisition projects. In 2004, Royce was instrumental in executing the acquisition of DaimlerChrysler's $1-billion Huntsville Electronics operations in Huntsville, Ala., which propelled Siemens VDO into a market leadership position across its core business fields. Most recently, he spearheaded the acquisition of American Electronic Components (AEC) Inc. located in Elkhart, Ind.
Prior to joining the company, Royce was with Toyota's regional operations in sales training and product planning. He holds an honors bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and a master's degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University in Detroit.
