Linamar Corporation Strengthens Detroit Presence

Relocation Will Expand Detroit Office By More Than 160 Percent, Integrate Capabilities to Better Serve Customers

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Jan. 3 -- Linamar Corporation has integrated its Detroit-area employees into one expanded location -- the Linamar Automotive Customer Center -- further positioning the company for continued growth in the automotive industry. The office, which officially opens today, gives Linamar 160 percent more space than its previous offices. It will unify Linamar's Detroit-based sales team and the McLaren Performance Technologies sales, marketing and engineering team to provide customers with advanced support in the design, testing and analysis of engine transmission and chassis systems. Linamar acquired McLaren in 2003.

"Our new Automotive Customer Center will increase the communication and collaboration between engineering and sales, making us more efficient and more in tune with our customers' needs," said Jim Jarrell, president and chief operating officer, Linamar Corporation. "Ultimately, our customers will be the biggest winners from this move."

Linamar's Automotive Customer Center currently houses 65 associates in engineering, sales, human resources, finance and administrative positions. The company plans to significantly expand its team of engineers in the coming years to keep pace with its expected growth. The space has capacity for 100 employees.

The 24,000 square-foot suite is on the ninth floor of Travelers Tower I, on Evergreen Road between M-10 (Lodge) and I-696. Prior to the new office, the company leased 9,100 square feet of office space in Southfield. The new address is 26555 Evergreen Road, Suite 900, Southfield, Mich., 48076. Phone numbers will remain the same.

Based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, Linamar is a global manufacturer and supplier of leading edge solutions to the automotive industry and beyond. In 2004, Linamar's sales topped $1.6 billion USD and the company is focused on growing business to $10 billion in sales by the year 2020.

The company has over 10,000 employees in 37 manufacturing locations, five research and development centers and nine sales offices in Canada, United States, Mexico, Germany, Hungary, China, Korea and Japan.
